Guérande and the Parc de la Brière
A city steeped in history
You’re probably familiar with the famous Guérande salt. From our campsite in Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef take a tour of the salt marshes and discover the secrets of how this quality salt is made, thanks to the salt workers. You can round off your visit with a visit to the nearby museum. Also worth a visit: the charming town of Guérande, steeped in history, with its heritage, its medieval city… and much more to discover on site.
Nature and heritage
Climb aboard a barge (a black, tapering flat-bottomed boat steered by a pole) and discover the Brière Regional Nature Park. Here you’ll find a rich diversity of flora and fauna, as well as wet meadows stretching as far as the eye can see. You’ll also see traditional thatched cottages. It’s the perfect way to spend a day away from it all, in the peace and quiet of nature and the breathtaking scenery of the Brière Park.
You can visit the port of Saint-Nazaire, the city’s raison d’être. Learn about the port’s history and its importance to the city.
Don’t miss these two must-see visits on the Côte de Jade.
